The Type 90 tank (90式戦車 Kyū-maru-shiki-sensha) is a main battle tank developed by Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. Designed to replace the older Type 61 and Type 74 tanks, it entered active service in 1990. With a modern design, modular armor, and advanced fire control systems, the Type 90 represents a significant evolution in Japanese armored warfare and is set to be gradually replaced by the newer Type 10 tank.

This model kit features two 1/144th scale Type 90 tanks outfitted with mine rollers for battlefield engineering scenarios.
