The Leclerc is a third-generation French main battle tank built by GIAT Industries, now Nexter. Named after General Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque, a key figure in France’s liberation during World War II, the Leclerc embodies advanced engineering and battlefield innovation. Featuring composite modular armor, an autoloading 120mm smoothbore gun, and advanced command-and-control systems, the Leclerc has served as the backbone of France’s armored forces since the 1990s.
